Roy Chester Burden

Roy Chester Burden, 78, passed away quietly at home surrounded by his family on December 3, 2004.
Born on November 29, 1926 in Suffolk, he was predeceased by his parents, Neb and Ellen Smith Burden and his sister, Virginia Terry.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Frances Matthews Burden, his son, Rex Burden and wife Robin, one daughter, Bonnie Cooley, his sister, Marie Wiess, his grandchildren, Ryan, Douglas and Rachel, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Burden was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 2582 and the Suffolk Moose Lodge #141 since 1967.
The funeral service will be held on December 7, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of Harrell and Hill Funeral Home in Suffolk, with Rev. George Terry officiating. Burial will be private.
Friends may join the family at the funeral home on Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. for visitation and at the home of his son, 3572 Indian Trail following the service and other times.
