William H. Edwards

Bill Edwards, 70, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, died Dec. 29, 2004.
Born June 1, 1934, in Isle of Wight County, he was the son of the late William T. and Mary E. Dickerson Edwards. Bill was the owner of W. H. Edwards Inc., trucking company, a member of Wilroy Baptist Church, and a collector of antique tractors.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Edwards; daughters, Linda A. Edwards of Corapeake, N.C., Kitty E. Martin and husband, Earl of Suffolk; stepson, Bobby Wharf and wife, Deborah of Fredericksburg; sisters, Evelyn Bristow of Norfolk, Helen Pittman of Virginia Beach, Violet Stafford, Marion Burden, and Toni Shank, all of Suffolk; Edith Jean of Portsmouth; brothers, Paul Edwards and Dudley Edwards, both of Suffolk, Cecil Edwards of Windsor; grandchildren, Jonathan Martin and Michelle Martin.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, at 2 p.m. in the R. W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home and Crematory by the Rev. Carter Dey and the Rev. Mark L. Burns with entombment in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
