SuffolkFirst Bank to build north Suffolk branch

As assets at SuffolkFirst Bank swell, the institution will add another branch in north Suffolk.
The bank has filed an application with the Bureau of Financial Institutions for approval to open a a new location at the proposed Bennett’s Creek Crossing Shopping Center located at Shoulders Hill Road and Route 17, said Darrell G. Swanigan, president and CEO of SuffolkFirst Bank.
&uot;This will be our third full service location since the Bank opened on January 27, 2003,&uot; he added. &uot;We are excited about our future, and the opportunity to serve this area of our market.
From inception, North Suffolk has been a focal point in the Bank’s expansion plans.&uot;
SuffolkFirst Bank is the city’s fastest growing financial institution, &uot;and this new facility will compliment our two convenient locations at 100 Bosley Ave. and 1000 N. Main St. in Central Suffolk,&uot; said Swanigan.
As of Dec. 31, the Bank had assets of $81.1 million.
SuffolkFirst Bank publicly trades on the NASDAQ Small Cap Market under the symbol &uot;SUFB&uot;.
At close of business Jan. 13, the stock closed at $9.50 per share.
The bank just recently launched free bill pay and online banking.
