A Hampton man who kicked a Suffolk police officer Monday is facing multiple charges related to the incident.
Police were dispatched to the 4600 block of Hardy Circle in College Square around 10:45 p.m. after the suspect, Fernando Bartlett, 43, kicked in the door of a house, said Lt. Debbie George, spokeswoman for the Suffolk Police Department. Police found the suspect hiding in a closet and arrested him.
Bartlett resisted the arrest, kicking Sgt. Fred Cunningham on the shin and knocking out the vehicle’s rear window, George said.
Bartlett was charged with felony assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, trespassing and two counts of destruction of property.
