Luther Darden

Luther Darden, 68, of Windsor, died Feb. 6, 2005. He was a rigger for Newport News Tennco Shipbuilding and Dry Dock. He was a native of Isle of Wight Co. and a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. He was a charter member of the Buckhorn Hunt Club. Mr. Darden was the son of the late Dorothy P. and Rufus Darden.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Martha B. Darden of Windsor; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy D. and Danny R. Strickland of Suffolk; two grandchildren, Christine S. Watkins and Stephanie Strickland, both of Windsor, one great granddaughter and three great grandsons; two brothers, Raymond and Marvin Darden both of Carrsville.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005 at Parr Funeral Home. The interment will take place in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens with the Dr. Richard Peerey officiating. Friends may join the family Tuesday night at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. and other times at the residence of Cindy and Danny Strickland at 2205 Simons Drive, Suffolk.
