Vernie B. Newsome, 74, passed away Feb. 4, 2005 at Obici Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell’s A.M.E. Church. Viewing will be from 1 to 7 p.m. at Shivers Funeral Chapel. The burial will be in the Meadowbrook Memorial Cemetery, Suffolk.

The family will be assembled at 1606 Freeney Avenue. Arrangements are by Shivers Funeral Chapel, Smithfield.
