Florence Norene Jones Copeland, 94, departed this life on March 8, 2005 in Autumn Care Nursing Home. She was a native of Nansemond County (Suffolk). She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Martha Jones and was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph &uot;Link&uot; Copeland.

She attended school in Nansemond County, was a domestic worker, homemaker, and loved gardening. She was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church, Suffolk, where she served in the Willing Worker’s Club and was a faithful member until her health deteriorated.

She is survived by three children, Joseph Murray Copeland (Lillian) of Suffolk, Mildred White (Luther) of Franklin, and Martha Moody of Suffolk; one stepdaughter, Margaret Boone of Portsmouth; one sister-in-law, Evelyn S. Jones of Sunbury; ten grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2005 in Tabernacle Christian Church by the Rev. Carlton D. Everett. The interment will be in Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends at 6024 Mineral Springs Road (Whaleyville area), Suffolk where they will also assemble at noon on Friday. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
