Sara B. Williams

Sara Beale Williams, 88, of Atlantic Shores in Virginia Beach, died Thursday, March 10, 2005, in Virginia Beach surrounded by her family.
A native of Smithfield, Sara was the widow of Robert H. Williams and the daughter of the late Carl M. and Lucille Beale. She was a retired high school teacher, having taught at Chuckatuck High School and John Yeates High School. She was a graduate of State Teachers College (Longwood University) and was a member of Beech Grove United Methodist Church, the Driver Book Club and the Needlework Guild in Norfolk.
Survivors include one daughter, Sylvia Bacon and husband David of Virginia Beach; three sons, Tom Williams and wife Jackie of Suffolk, Bob Williams, Jr. and wife Judy of Virginia Beach, and Ned Williams and wife Debra of Virginia Beach; one sister, Evelyn B. Dressler of Alabama; one brother, Carl M. Beale, Jr. of Smithfield; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 14, in Beech Grove United Methodist Church by the Revs. Brian Sixbey and Garland Hines. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Sylvia Bacon, 2549 Lower Greens Place, Virginia Beach on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. and at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel on from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Beech Grove UMC Building Fund.
