A Norfolk woman was arrested and charged with felony child neglect Monday.

A witness reported that a 10-month-old had been left in a 1997 Jeep for approximately 30 minutes in the 200 block of Fallawater Way in Suffolk’s Burnetts Way community, said Suffolk Police Lt. Debbie George, the department spokeswoman.

The child’s mother, Sonya Aldaco, 21, of the 400 block of Walsingham Way in Norfolk,

was inside the Fallawater residence when the baby was found.

She was charged with neglect and transported to Western Tidewater Regional Jail where she was released on a $5,000 bond, said George.
