The wedding and anniversary announcement of Erica D. Baker and Barris P. Baker who celebrated their one year wedding anniversary on Feb. 28, 2005.

The Rev. Jarvis A. Jones officiated the double-ring ceremony. The reception took place at the Family Affair in Suffolk. The colors were ivory, hunter green with gold as the accent. The bride wore a full-length, a-line ivory satin Mikado two-piece gown embroidered caf\u00E9 lace duster with sequins and beads. Her tiara was made of ivory beads. The bouquet was made from a combination of flowers ivory gardenias meaning (joy), lily meaning (happiness) and roses meaning (love).

The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman C. Branch and the granddaughter of Mrs. Martha A. Owens and the late Mr. Roy J. Owens.

The groom was escorted and given in marriage by her son Eric D. Branch. Matrons of honor were Mrs. Lisa Evans (sister of the bride) and Mrs. Melody Branch (friend of the bride). Maid of honor was Ms. Laura Jones (sister of the groom). Bridesmaids were Mrs. Jennifer Parker (sister of bride), Mrs. Lavern Farrow (friend of the bride) and Ms. Nicole Skeeter (friend of bride). Flower girls were little Miss Joi Parker (niece of bride) and little Miss Alisha Warmack (granddaughter of the groom). The best men were Mr. Ernie Lewis (friend of groom) and Mr. Paul Goodman (cousin of groom). Groomsmen were Mr. Calvin Holland (nephew of groom), Mr. James Parker (brother-in-law of bride), Mr. John Engel (friend of groom) and Mr. Ben Stevens (cousin of groom).

Bible carriers were master Adonta Jordan and master Barris Britt (grandson’s of the groom), ringbearer was master Jake Overman (friend of bride). Bell ringer and announcer was master Kyle Evans (nephew of bride). Ushers were Mr. Anthony Britt and Mr. Brandon Manley. Hostesses were Aleasha Branch, Karen Baker, Stacey Britt, Danielle Hart and Tracey Warmack. Thebride was the wedding coordinator and Mrs. Mary Herndon and Mrs. Sally Persons were wedding directresses.

The vocalists were Mr. Troy Baker, Ms. Denita Baker and Mr. Raymond Felton. The musician was Mr. James Copeland.

Out-of-town guest and family were from North Carolina, New York and Florida. Erica and Barris currently reside in Suffolk.

The bride was given a lingerie shower at the Evans Family home by Mrs. Jennifer Parker and a miscellaneous shower at Obici Hospital by Lisa Story and Marianne Walston.
