Delores Jean Thomas, 55, of the 5900 block of Hawk Lane, Suffolk, died April 3, 2005 in Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk. She was a native of Nansemond County.

She was a Companion Aide. She was a member of the Greater New Hope Church of God In Christ where she served as a licensed missionary, church treasurer, secretary and Sunday School teacher.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Thomas; three daughters, Carla Reid (Dennis), Tasha Allen (Jerry) of Suffolk, and Jacinta Thomas of Hampton; three sons, Troy Thomas (Cheryl) of Atlanta, Ga., Sutaan Thomas (Tanisha) of Smithfield and Micah Thomas of Suffolk; mother, Ruby Mae Hill and stepfather, Willie Hill of Suffolk; father, Frederick Jefferson of Suffolk; three sisters, Mary Jefferson of Suffolk, Ruby Goodman (Paul) of Junction City, Kan., and Valerie Perry (Melvin) of Suffolk; four brothers, Frederick Jefferson (Reba) of East Orange, N.J., Carlos Jefferson and Sukina Jefferson of Junction City, Kan., and Wayne Jefferson of Rosharon, Texas; nine grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2005 in Friendship Cathedral Worship Center by Elder Eugene Austin. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. The family will be at the residence at 6705 Everetts Road, Suffolk. The family extends a special thanks to the Obici Hospital ICU nurses and the physicians who participated in her care.
