Alex Johnson Jr.

Early in the morning of April 5, 2005 the death angel came and took our loved one, Alex Johnson, Jr., to be with the Lord.
He was born in Norfolk County on March 29, 1931 to Alex and Mabel Johnson.
He was a member of St. Phillip Church that he joined upon returning from New York.
He worked at the Newport News Shipyard for many years.
He retired from Long Island Development Medical Center in Melville, N.Y. after 25 years of service. Alex was a friendly and courteous neighbor and will surely be missed in his community. He loved his family. He bore his illness without complaint and with the pride he displayed throughout his lifetime.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 37 years, Rebecca Ann Johnson; three sons, Victor Johnson, Terrell Johnson and Michael Johnson; two daughters, Brenda Broadnax and Valerina Jones; six grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; one brother, Moses Richard Johnson; nieces; nephews; five great nieces; seven great nephews; great-great nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
We will truly miss you.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2005 at St. Phillips Pentecostal Church, 728 Ashley Avenue, Suffolk, VA (Saratoga section). Friends may join the family from 1 to 6 p.m. (a wake will be held from 5 to 6 p.m.) at the funeral home. The interment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Park Cemetery.
