George &uot;Junie&uot; Foster Jr., of 604 JFK Ct., Suffolk, went into eternal rest on April 6, 2005 in Obici Memorial Hospital. He was the son of Mrs. Ethel Mae Foster and the late George Foster Sr. He was the husband of Mrs. Dorothy Jean Butts Foster.

Mr. Foster, a native of the Hobson community, was a lifelong resident of Suffolk.

He attended the East Suffolk High School. He was a mason and a welder and

retired after 25 years from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth.

Besides his loving and devoted wife of 42 years and his mother, Mr. Foster is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Sharon Young, Mrs. Vernetta Mason and her husband, Michael A. Mason and Mrs. Vernita Brown and her husband, James Brown of Hampton; a son, Keith Foster and his wife, Cathy; adopted brother, Kelvin Foster and his wife, Jeanette of Newport News.

He leaves to cherish memories his grandchildren, Keshonda Foster, Quaneshia Foster, Andrea Foster, Adrianne Foster, John-Luc Young, Tyler Mason, Michael Mason, Marquita Wolfrey and Keance Gilliam.

Other survivors include his aunts, Mrs. Marie Flood of Smithfield, Mrs. Lucille Brown, Mrs. Florence Boney, and Mrs. Mary Thomas, all of Newport News; uncles, John Thomas of Washington, D.C., Robert Thomas of Mitchellville, Md. and Roosevelt Thomas of Newport News; a devoted cousin, Eugene Flood of Smithfield and numerous cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 11, at St. Paul’s R.Z.U.A. Church, Suffolk, with the Dr. Edward P. Foreman. The interment will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence.
