Barbara W. Holland, 63 of Earlysville, went to be with the Lord Thursday April 7, 2005 in a local hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Leona Buck Wright.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Eugene E. Holland of Earlysville; her daughter, JoAnne H. Duffy and husband, Bruce of Richmond; her son, Lawrence E. Holland and wife Kristen of Richmond, and three granddaughters; Eden Rae Duffy, Elizabeth Marie Holland and Katherine Lee Holland.

She is also survived by her sister, Faye W. Varney and husband J.B., her two nephews, Benjamin L. and Joshua P. Varney and a special great niece; Mariah Varney, all of Suffolk.

Barbara was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was a friend to many and touched countless people with her friendly smile, her bubbly personality and her love for God.

Barbara loved everyone, but particularly children and the elderly.

Because of her passion for small children, she started the Christian Preschool Adventure at Jefferson Park Baptist Church. She also directed after-school programs in the Charlottesville and Albemarle school systems.

Her three grandchildren adored her, and she played an integral part in molding their lives.

Barbara greatly appreciated the creations of the hand of God.

She loved flowers, animals and all of God’s nature.

Her presence on this earth will be missed by many.

The family will receive friends Monday April 11 at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home, 201 North First Street, Charlottesville, VA

22902 from 7 until 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at Jefferson Park Baptist Church, 2505 Jefferson Park Avenue, Charlottesville Tuesday April 12 at 11 a.m. with Dr. Jeffrey T. Riddle officiating.

The interment will be in the Holland Cemetery Wednesday April 13, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Dr. Jeffrey T. Riddle and Rev. Dolan Talbert officiating.
