Edwardses celebrate first anniversary

The marriage of Regine Walme to Rudolph Edison Edwards Jr. took place at 5 p.m. on April 10, 2004 at Founders Inn in Virginia Beach. The service was conducted by the Rev. Alexander G. Bell, assistant pastor of Grove Baptist Church.
Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. George Walme of Bronx, N.Y. Maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Gracia of Port Au Prince, Haiti. Paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Walme of Port Au Prince, Haiti. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph E. Edwards Sr. of Suffolk. Maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester H. Mayfield of Suffolk. Paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Simon P. Edwards who lived in Suffolk.
The bride wore an elegant strapless organza gown with an a-line skirt embellished with Swarokie crystal detail along the neckline, waist and train accented with a shawl.
The Matron of Honor was Mrs. Tara M. Schorber. Bridesmaids included Ms. Latoya K. Chisholm, Ms. Christina L. Fields, Ms. Christina Mareado and Ms. Kerry Ann Samms. The junior bridesmaid was Shavon A. Smith.
The Best Man was Herman S. Mizell. Groomsmen included were Mr. Levar M. Hagues, Mrs. Reshaud Mayfield, Mr. Darnell Mayfield and Mr. Arkuie Williams. The junior groomsmen was Webster T. Smith.
The flower girls were Audre R. Davis and Taliyah M. Edwards and ring bearer Jace Holliman. Hostesses included Mr. Kristie F. Bullock, Ms. Jennifer Clark, Ms. Angela M. Hall and Ms. Latrice J. Walden. Mrs. Shirron E. Brisseau served as wedding coordinator.
The reception was held in the ballroom at the Founders Inn.
The couple’s honeymoon was spent in the tropical vacation sport of Port St. Lucie, Florida followed by La Romana, Dominican Republic.
