Police investigate theft of cigarettes

Stolen cigarettes are the focus of a Suffolk Police investigation.

Police are calling on the public to help locate four suspects who entered a Sentry Food Mart on Pruden Boulevard on March 30 and took approximately 15 cartons of smokes.

At approximately 4 a.m, three black males and one black female entered the store, as one of the suspects occupied the clerk, said Suffolk Police Lt. Debbie George, spokeswoman for the department. The other suspect forced open an office door in the rear of the store and took the cigarettes

Police say the suspects left in an older model blue and gray Chevrolet Suburban, which has a broken rear window covered with a plastic trash bag. The vehicle has been spotted in downtown Suffolk and the Craddock section of Portsmouth.

The male suspects are believed to be between 25 to 35 years old, and the woman approximately 25.
