Alberta W. Everett of the 700 block of Oak Grove Road, Chesapeake, died April 11, 2005 in Sentara Health Care Center. She was a native of Nansemond County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Everett and her father and mother, Augustus Walker and Matilda R. Walker.

She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Pughsville Road. She retired from domestic work.

She is survived by one son, Barry J. Everett (Sandra) of Springdale, Md.; two sisters, Ida Peek of Rockway, N.Y. and Eunice Cox of Chesapeake; a devoted niece, Alease Jones of Portsmouth; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2005 in New Hope Baptist Church by Dr. William Russell. The entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The body will be taken to the church at 9:30 a.m. The family will receive friends at Crocker Funeral Home, Sunday, April 17, 2005 from 6 to 7 p.m. Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, is handling the arrangements.
