As a key component of development surrounding the new Hilton Garden Inn, Suffolk city officials are preparing to dedicate the adjoining Constant’s Wharf Park on Saturday, April 30.

Grand opening day festivities begin with the ceremonial unveiling of the park and marina at 11 a.m. at North Main Street and Constance Road. Following the event, food from local restaurants will be available along with several activities for children of all ages, including many performances by artists from Young Audiences of Virginia.

Keeping the fun at a maximum level, the city plans to continue the party with a fireworks display and a concert featuring Groove Spot, which will open for national recording artists, Fighting Gravity. This show starts at 5 p.m., with the musical performance following at 7:30 p.m.

After all of this fun, prepare to continue the party by enjoying a

fireworks display and a rockin’ concert with Groove Spot, opening for National Recording Artists Fighting Gravity.

Daytime activities close at 3 p.m, with evening functions starting at 4:30 p.m.. Satellite parking areas with a complimentary shuttle service are available beginning at 4 p.m. in the former Obici Hospital lot on North Main Street and on Cherry Street.
