St. Matthew Pentecostal Holiness Church, 407 N. Sixth St., will have a Women’s Day service at 4 p.m. today. The speaker for the evening will be Missionary Parker from Miracle Temple Holiness Church, Newport News. Also, at 5 p.m. Sunday, May 1, Bishop O. Colander of Faith Temple Church is the guest speaker for the pastor’s anniversary service.

Senior Choir Anniversary at Lakeview

At 4 p.m. today, Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church, 635 Brooke Ave., will celebrate its senior choir annual anniversary with Dr. Willis Freeman and Pleasant Shade Baptist Church of Franklin as the special guests. Annie Eley is the president. Call 934-1047 for more information. Also, Spring Revival begins Monday, May 2, through Friday May 6, each night at 7.

The Rev. Dr. Anthony Copeland of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Suffolk, will be the guest minister for the week. Choirs from the Tidewater area will sing each night.

Grace Lutheran Church

At 9 a.m. today, Grace Lutheran Church, 25280 New Market Road, of Courtland, will have Joe Wilber as guest speaker. Pastor Hal Harter will be music director at the Lutheran men in mission gathering through Sunday in Harrisonburg. At 10:30 a.m., Sunday School takes place. On Tuesday at 10 a.m., there will be a Tidewater Conference at Faith Lutheran in Suffolk.

Pleasant Grove Baptist Church

Pleasant Grove Baptist Church will celebrate Youth Day at 11 a.m. today. The Rev. Sylvia Copeland-Murphy will be the guest minister. The Rev. Karl Marshall Sr. is the host pastor. The church is located at the intersection of Pine view and Butler Drive.

Breakfast at St. Paul Pentecostal Church

St. Paul PHC, 20663 Thomas Woods Trail, Zuni, will host a Prayer Breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 30. A donation of $6 is requested. The pastor’s aide is sponsoring the event. Call 342-3816 or 535-7274 for more information.

Spring Revival at Sixth Street Baptist

Bishop C.V. Russell III of St. Paul Baptist, is the guest speaker for a revival at Sixth Street Baptist, 324 Goodman St. from April 26-29. The Rev. Dr. James B. Williams is the host pastor. Choirs will sing each night.

Women’s Day at Tabernacle

Tabernacle Christian Church, 1401 E. Washington St., will celebrate their annual Women’s Day program at 11:15 a.m. today. Dr. Berthinia Kee of House of Joy and Praise Outreach Center of Waterbury, Conn. is the keynote speaker. Kee, born in Suffolk on June 9, 1940 to Clarence and Berneathia (Thompson), married her husband, Deacon Frank Kee Sr. on November 2, 1958, who serves and labors with her in the ministry.

She has seven children Frank Kee Jr., Anita Marie Anthony, George Eric Kee Sr., Randy Antonio Kee Sr., Sybrella Nanette Moss, James Randolph Kee and Collette Verita Edwards, all of whom serve in the ministry.

Other highlights of Kee’s career, include serving as Junior Choir Director from 1965-79, Sunday School and Bible Study Teacher and Youth President at Mt. Olive Church, Waterbury.
