Alfred C. Hingerty

Alfred Calhoun Hingerty Jr., 94, passed away Monday, April 15, 2005 in a Petersburg Hospital.
Born Nov. 3, 1910, he was the son of the late Alfred Calhoun Hingerty Sr., and Martha Elizabeth Griffin Hingerty.
Mr. Hingerty was a Deacon and Trustee of Bethlehem Christian Church in Suffolk. He was a retired farmer whose hobbies were fox hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Alice Wilmoth Laine Hingerty.
Mr. Hingerty is also survived by a son, Alfred Elliott Hingerty of Riverview, Fla.; a daughter, Carolyn Hingerty Dundalow of Waverly; granddaughters, Susan Elaine Hingerty and Katie Alice Hingerty, both of Atlanta; grandsons, David Thomas Dundalow and Johnathan Alfred Dundalow, both of Petersburg; a great-grandson, Morgan Thomas Dundalow of Petersburg; nephews, Donald Henry Horsley of Virginia Beach, William Edward Horsley Jr. of Ahoskie, N.C., William Morrison Piland of Suffolk and P. B. Piland Jr. of Suffolk.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27 at Bethlehem Christian Church, Suffolk, with the Rev. Jonathan Palmer officiating. The interment will follow in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Bethlehem Christian Church in memory of Mr. Hingerty, 1549 Holland Road, Suffolk, VA 23434.
Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, assisted the family with the arrangements.
