I have lived in Hall Place for 26 years.

My husband and I keep our home and yard in good shape. We are members of the Hall Place Community Association.

As a homeowner in Hall Place, I do not want my neighborhood to become &uot;historical.&uot;

I don’t want to pay higher taxes. I don’t want someone telling me or my husband how to fix our home, or what color paint to use, along with charging me a fee for getting prior approval.

It is interesting how the association will call me when they want some assistance with a yard sale, but I was never called when they discussed and eventually voted to submit an application for Hall Place to become a historical designated community on the local, state, and federal levels.

I am sure there are many homeowners that were not informed or consulted about this major decision.

The HPCA never used to do things without letting people know.

We need to make some leadership changes and vote in folks who will strive for doing what is best for all members, the way it used to be.

Many of the individuals who want the historical designation have only lived here for a couple of years. We should have a right to be informed and to be a part of the vote. I vote &uot;NO&uot; for Hall Place to go &uot;historical.&uot;
