Jessica Little threw a 12-strikeout no-hitter and Brittany Wilkins hit a homer and drove in two runs as Nansemond-Suffolk Academy ran away from visiting Peninsula Catholic 11-0 in five innings on Tuesday. Devin Jesz and Jeff Cooper also went long in the baseball team’s 14-1 win, which also went five innings.

Wilkins didn’t waste time, smacking her solo shot over the left-field fence in the first inning. Little walked and scored on a double by Lindsay Jarman, who came in on a single by Natalie Cutchin.

Megan Patterson led off the second with a double and Katie Byrd cashed her in with a single. Brittany Williams tripled home Byrd, and Elyse Edwards walked. Wilkins doubled both in, and Jarman sent her home with a single to end the inning up 8-0.

Jarman wasn’t through, tripling to start the fifth. Patterson singled her in, and went to third on a double by Byrd. Ellen Giermak blasted a double to left to score both runners and end things early.

After Catholic scored in the first, Adam Keeling doubled for NSA, and Jason Rock followed suit to score him. A single by Cooper and walk by Jesz loaded the bases, and Andy Owens got a pass to force home Rock. Cooper scored on a passed ball, and Matt Tuttle doubled in Jesz and Owens for a 5-1 lead.

Matt Hamlet, Keeling and Rock loaded the bases to start the second, and Cooper hit in Hamlet and Keeling. Then Jesz whacked his blast over the centerfield fence for a 10-1 advantage, to which Bryan Breedlove added one when he was driven in by Tuttle.

Hamlet tripled to start the third, and Keeling singled him in. Rock hit into a double play, but Cooper hammered a round-tripper over the right-field fence. Hamlet scored the last run in the fourth inning.
