Lindly Therox beat up host Indian River from both sides of the plate on Wednesday, striking out 10 in a 7-0 shutout. She also drove in two runs and scored two more. River’s boys weren’t as lucky, letting the Braves jump out to an early 7-1 lead before their rally fell short in a 7-5 loss.

Lakeland came within a run of pulling off a huge upset, as Western Branch scored a run in the top of the 10th in a 5-4 win. Lakeland’s girls fell 11-5 and King’s Fork’s lost 3-0 to Great Bridge.

Both River squads will host Oscar Smith Friday, while Fork plays Deep Creek. Lakeland will try its luck at home against Indian River on Tuesday.
