Spring Revival at New Piney Wood Chapel

Bishop Thomas L. Smith Jr., of Deeper Revelation International Ministry in Memphis, Tenn., will be the speaker for the spring revival at New Piney Wood Chapel Baptist Church, Drum Hill, N.C. from Monday, May 16-20. Services will begin at 7:30 p.m. each night. Local area church choirs will provide music.

Bishop Smith is a 1989 graduate of Gates County High School and an alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. The Buffalo Bills auspiciously drafted him in the first round in 1993, launching his successful stint as a professional football player in the NFL.

Block Party at East End Baptist

East End Baptist Church, 523 E. Washington St., will sponsor a Community Block Party from noon until 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 with a rain date of May 28. Tabernacle Christian sponsors Mega Fest trip
