Service at New Mt. Zion today

Sunday School will be held at New Mt. Zion Holiness Church, 2113 Georgia Ave., at 10 a.m. today. Worship Service starts at 11:30 a.m. and today is Pastoral Day. At 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday is Bible Study.

Minister’s revival

Healing Fountain Macedonia Church, 308 Briggs St., will have a minister’s revival at 7:30 nightly Monday, May 16-20. Tuesday night the speaker is Elder Trevon Boone, New Mt. Joy Food For Living of Suffolk; Wednesday, Evangelist Diane Harris of Portsmouth; Thursday, Evangelist Yolanda Branch from Healing Fountain Macedonia Church; and on Friday, the speaker is Minister Jewell Corprew of Healing Fountain Macedonia.

Women’s Day at Pleasant Grove today

Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, will celebrate Women’s Day at 11 a.m. today. Minister Bertha May White of New Life Ministries of Norfolk, will be the guest minister. Women’s Day at Little Mt. Zion today

Little Mount Zion Baptist Church, 3288 Pruden Blvd., will celebrate Women’s Day at 11:30 a.m. today. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Shirley Liverman, associate minister of East End Baptist Church.

Spring Revival at New Piney Wood Chapel

Bishop Thomas L. Smith Jr., of Deeper Revelation International Ministry in Memphis, Tenn., will be the speaker for the spring revival at New Piney Wood Chapel Baptist Church, Drum Hill, N.C. from Monday, May 16-20. Services will begin at 7:30 p.m. each night. Local area church choirs will provide music.

Bishop Smith is a 1989 graduate of Gates County High School and an alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. The Buffalo Bills auspiciously drafted him in the first round in 1993, launching his successful stint as a professional football player in the NFL.

Block Party at East End Baptist

East End Baptist Church, 523 E. Washington St., will sponsor a Community Block Party from noon until 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 with a rain date of May 28. There will be food, health screenings, clothes giveaway, USDA Grocery Giveaway, games, prizes, music and entertainment, cotton candy and more. Tabernacle Christian sponsors Mega Fest trip

Tabernacle Christian Church, 1401 E. Washington St., is sponsoring a trip to the T. D. Jakes Mega Fest, in Atlanta, Ga. The cost is $295 per person. There are only 31 seats available.
