City leaders and industry officials joined together for the groundbreaking of Empire Development’s new 25,000-square-foot, multi-tenant warehouse on four acres in Obici Industrial Park Wednesday afternoon. Participants include the Rev. Isaac Baker, vice chairman of the Industrial Development Authority; Councilman Calvin Jones; Vice Mayor Leroy Bennett; Hugh Tierney, president of Empire Development; City Manager R. Steven Herbert; Mayor Bobby L. Ralph; Councilman Curtis Milteer and Economic Development Director Thomas O’Grady.
