Lindsay Kelly struck out seven, drove in one run and scored another to end her high school career with a shutout win Wednesday, helping Lakeland to a 3-0 win over visiting local rival King’s Fork. Every Suffolk high school softball team won its final home game this season. Katelyn Smither, Mary Rimasse, Rachel Evans, Kaitlin Espinosa and Ashley McCord all hit the Lady Cavalier field for the final time.

With one out in the fourth, Katie DeVenuto walked and stole second. McCord bunted on, and Erica Rimasse singled to right to score DeVenuto.

Rimasse smacked a triple to centerfield with two away in the sixth, and Kelly singled her in. Katie Daughtrey singled Kelly to third, and Evans doubled her in.

Bryan Bess was the sole Lakeland baseball star to play his last game Wednesday, but he and his teammates made it a good one, roaring past Fork 11-1. Daniel Cross, John Rasberry and David Morean scored two runs each.
