&uot;Lord, what fools these mortals be….&uot; was the famous line uttered by Ryan Witherow, a fourth grader at Nansemond-Suffolk Academy who portrayed the part of Puck, the mischievous spirit known for his supernatural intervention of a series of mishaps.

Fourth graders, eager to delight their audience, presented the whimsical tale of love and magic in the classic Shakespeare comedy, Midsummer Night’s Dream this week.

&uot;The children really enjoyed working together. I am amazed how nine and ten year olds use their own personal touches to enhance the characters in the play,&uot; said Mary Davies, a fourth grade teacher at NSA.

&uot;It makes learning Shakespeare so much more fun for the children,&uot; she added. &uot;It was an absolutely wonderful performance!&uot;

The comedy about the quarrels and reunitings between a set of human lovers and the queen and king of the Fairies, was one of delight and charm. Fourth graders at NSA perform the production each spring at the school’s outdoor amphitheater.
