DECA says thanks to area businesses

Suffolk Public Schools’ marketing education students held their annual citywide employer-employee appreciation luncheon at the Suffolk Hilton Garden Inn on May 25.
Students from King’s Fork, Lakeland and Nansemond River high school presented their employers with framed certificates of appreciation.

Several employers, student-trainees, school personnel, Career and Technical Education Advisory Council members and special guests attended the luncheon.
District, state and international DECA winners were recognized. They brought their medallions, plaques and trophies to show their employers.
The cooperative students also prepared training station project boards reflecting their employment.
The marketing education teacher/coordinators are Theresa Caffee, Lakeland; J.B. Varney, King’s Fork; and S. Michele Duncan, Nansemond River.
