Obici Hospital offers CPR/AED and Safe Sitter courses in June

The Obici Wellness Center, 2769 Godwin Boulevard, will offer the following classes in June:
-The Healthcare Provider CPR course is designed to meet the needs of healthcare professionals who respond to cardiac emergencies and respiratory emergencies.
This course includes all adult and pediatric CPR, foreign body airway obstruction and two-rescuer CPR.
Barrier devices, heart attack, stroke, and AED usage will be covered as well.
A certification card is included. The class will be held on Wednesday, June 22 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The cost is $60.
-The Heartsaver CPR with AED course from the American Heart Association is designed for all lay rescuers who may need to respond to life-threatening emergencies including cardiac and choking for the adult, child, and infant victims.
The use of an AED for adult and child cardiac arrest victims will be taught, as well as the warning signs of heart attack and stroke in adults. Recognizing breathing difficulties in children will also be taught. A two-year certification card is issued upon successful demonstration of skills and passing a written test.
The class is held on Tuesday, June 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The cost for this course is $60.
-Safe Sitter Babysitting Class is a medically accurate, competency-based course that will cover a variety of topics including: babysitting as a business, success on the job, childcare essentials, sitter safety, injury management, preventing problem behavior, and care of a choking infant and child.
The course also introduces preventing injuries and behavior management. A pediatrician wrote the curriculum. The class is held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 16.
The cost is $35.
