A road to progress

The city on Wednesday unveiled the new $650,000, .25 mile Lake Kennedy Drive Extension, which intersects with White Marsh Road. This is part of the East Washington Street Neighborhood Initiatives Plan, which will reduce congestion in the East Suffolk Gardens community. Officials at the ribbon-cutting ceremony included council members Curtis R. Milteer Sr., Joseph Barlow, Calvin Jones, Charles F. Brown, Vice Mayor Leroy Bennett, Mayor Bobby L. Ralph; William Goodman, chairman of the East Suffolk Gardens Civic League; Eddie Hicks, president of the Lake Kennedy Civic League; and City Manager R. Steven Herbert.
