Effie Slavin Warrington, 88, died June 1, 2005, at her son’s home in Kitty Hawk.
Born November 8, 1916, in Isle of Wight, she was the daughter of the late Mary Edna Parker and Charles Bernice Slavin Sr. and widow of Thomas Elsworth Warrington Sr. Mrs. Warrington was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, the Wesley-Rawls Bible Class and the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Brinkley, of Rocky Mount; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas E. Warrington Jr. and Milagrina Warrington of Kitty Hawk; brother, William Calvin Slavin and wife, Mary of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Janelle Brinkley, Brie Warrington, Summer Warrington, Jack Russell Warrington and wife, Courtney; great grandson, Christopher James Warrington.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Main Street United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert J. Parks Jr. with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory from 6 to 8 p.m.
