Summer Fun at Living Waters Ministries

Youth Day at New Mt. Joy

130th anniversary at Gethsemane Baptist
Gethsemane Baptist Church, 1656 Copeland Road, continues the celebration of the 130th anniversary of service for God with guest worship leaders. The theme is &uot;130 Years of God’s Grace and Mercy.&uot;
Each Sunday during the 11 a.m. worship service and will honor this celebration with reflections of our past history, the on-going building champions for Christ, and the teaching of God’s Word. The 11 a.m. morning service speaker will be the Gethsemane Baptist Church Pastor, the Rev. Nathaniel Scates Jr.
The worship leaders for the morning service will be former members who will share some of their growing up worshipping experiences as &uot;Children&uot; of the Gethsemane Baptist Church Family.
Deacon Jacqueline Holland Silver will serve as worship leader on June 19. She is the daughter of Deaconess Erma Holland and the late Deacon Melvin L. Holland Sr. She is the wife of Willie A. Silver.
They have one son, Marcus Sr., and one grandson, Marcus Jr. Jackie currently works as an admissions counselor for the job corps.
Youth revival at Lakeview Missionary

Orchestra performing at Huguenot Road Baptist
The Huguenot Road Baptist Church Orchestra of Richmond, will be in concert at 7 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2005 at the Western Branch Baptist Church in Suffolk. This 30-piece Orchestra under the direction of Phillip Brown will present a program that will be appealing to all ages. The HRBC Orchestra is made up entirely of church member volunteers raging in age from Middle School through adults. The orchestra regularly plays in worship services as well as larger works and concerts and is currently on an Eastern Virginia concert tour.
The program will include a wide variety of musical styles something for everyone. There will be well-known hymn arrangements as well as new contemporary favorites. There are even selections specifically for children. There is no cost for this event.
Young Women in Christ sponsor ball
Young Women in Christ Ministries is sponsoring a formal ball at 5:30 p.m. July 9 at the Planters Club. The evening’s entertainment will include dinner, a praise team, praise dancers and raffle drawings. There will be a $20 donation for this event.
