A pickup carrying three teenage passengers on its rear bed flipped multiple times in a single-vehicle accident in north Suffolk Friday night.

Nicole Marie Russo, 18, of Chesapeake lost control of her 1985 Chevrolet pickup on Ferry Point Road, near the intersection of Crittenden Road, in Chuckatuck around 10 p.m., said Lt. Debbie George, spokeswoman for the Suffolk Police Department.

The truck veered off the left side of the roadway, rolling three or four times before coming to a stop more than 275 feet from the roadway, George said.

The three passengers in the back of the truck were thrown from the vehicle, she said. A fourth passenger was riding in the front of the truck.

Russo and two passengers, Christopher Lee Wilson, 18, and David Ramey, 15, were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Wilson’s condition was upgraded to fair on Monday, a hospital spokeswoman said. Russo and Ramey were treated and released from the hospital’s emergency room, she said.

Two other passengers, Andrew Baker Sill, 17, and Devin Brooks Abbott, 15, were taken to Obici Hospital. Details on their conditions were not available.

Russo was charged with reckless driving, George said.
