DeRonn Quente Goodman, 20, of the 4624 block of Magnolia Street, Suffolk, died June 19, 2005 in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was a native of Norfolk.
He was a 2002 graduate of I. C. Norcom High School, Portsmouth and attended Virginia State University, Petersburg. He was currently employed at Willie’s Grocery in Suffolk and was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church.
Mourning his loss and cherishing his memories are his parents, Kermit &uot;Joe&uot; and Mary Estelle Goodman of Suffolk; a sister, Brittany Goodman of Suffolk; a brother, Devon Goodman of Suffolk; grandparents, W. H. Willie Jr. &uot;June&uot; and Emma Myrick Willie of Suffolk, and Florence Goodman Eason of Suffolk; aunts, Cynthia Willie Gray of Washington, D.C., Delores Packer of Suffolk and Angela Johnson (James) of Portsmouth; great aunt, Mable Porch of Chesapeake; uncles, Ronald Willie of Oakland, Calif., Floyd Goodman (Ann) of Suffolk, Johnnie Goodman (Shelia) of Temperanceville, Eddie Wiggins (Lee) of Alaska, Terry Goodman of Seat Pleasant, Md., and Tony Turner of Afghanistan; cousins and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2005 in Grove Baptist Church, Portsmouth. The Rev. Dr. Melvin O. Marriner will officiate. The interment will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. The body will be taken to the church at 9:30 a.m. Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, is handling arrangements. The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Willie Jr. &uot;June&uot; of 1201 Lake Kennedy Drive, Suffolk.
