Saturday Night Live Gospel Explosion
At 6 p.m. Saturday, A Saturday Night Live Gospel Explosion will be held at Faith of Deliverance Soul Saving Ministries, 239 Holladay St. featuring Minister of Music James Copeland Jr., the Voices of Deliverance, Nuwine Gospel Singers, Voices of Praise, Eric Knight, and Denita Baker, all of Suffolk and the Mitchell Gospel Singers of Portsmouth. Minister Trevon Boone, of New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries, is the master of ceremony. The program will benefit the building fund. The host pastor is Bishop Clarence Copeland.
Hillcrest Baptist rambling across the U.S.
Hillcrest Baptist Church, 1629 Holland Road, will ramble across the nation on an unparalleled road trip. Ramblers can gather for this Vacation Bible School road trip.
Children from grade six through 12 are invited to join the Vacation Bible School for Teens July 11-15 at the church each evening from 6-9 p.m. Built around an RV road trip across the USA, the week will be full of exciting Bible Study, crafts, RV camp-related refreshments and recreation for everyone.
Adults also will have the opportunity to participate in a Ramblin’ Road Trip Bible Study. This week of fun, food, and exciting learning opportunities is free of charge and open to everyone. Call 539-8801 for more information.
Watchful Eye Summer Youth program
The Tabernacle Christian Church is sponsoring the Watchful Eye Summer Youth Program beginning July 5-29. The program, open to children K-6th grade, will take place 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the TCC Life Center.
The registration fee is $10; weekly tuition for TCC members is $30 for the first child; and $10 for each additional child. Weekly tuition for non-members is $50 for the first child, and $15 for each additional child. For more information, cal 539-7257.
Youth Crusade at St. Paul RZUA
The St. Paul R.Z.U.A Church, located at Spruce and Lewis Avenue, will host its annual Youth Crusade on July 6-8. The guest minister will be National Evangelist Willie Riddick, a native of Suffolk. Along with the spoken word, various choirs and praise dancers are scheduled on the program. Praise and worship will begin at 7:30 p.m. each night. Call 923-0969 or 934-2935 for more information.
Gates of Heaven holding yard sale
The Building Fund department of Gates of Heaven COGIC, 112 Beech St., will be having a yard sale Saturday from 7a.m.-until. For more info call 539-3856. Also, a Fish Fry takes place at
Gates of Heaven beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot. Dinners include potato salad, string beans, rolls and dessert. The cost is $5.
