A Suffolk man who hired a prostitute for his 15-year-old great nephew last March could spend up to 15 years in prison.
Roy Lee Richardson, 58, pleaded guilty in Suffolk Circuit Court Friday to one count of crimes against nature and one count of taking indecent liberties with a child in a custodial relationship.
He will be sentenced on Sept. 7, said Assistant Common-wealth’s Attorney Marie Walls.
As part of the plea agreement, the court dropped charges of conspiracy and solicitation to commit a felony.
Richardson was indicted by a grand jury in April after he paid a prostitute $13 to have sex with the teenager on March 12, Walls said. The boy’s mother called police after Richardson asked to be reimbursed the $13.
Richardson has repeatedly told authorities that he was intoxicated at the time and that he didn’t recall the incident, Walls said.
