Local team heads to regionals today

Over the past few weeks, the Suffolk S.T.A.R.S. youth track team has been knocking time off their runs and adding yardage to their shotput and javelin throws in track meets. Beginning today, the local youngsters will compete in the AAU regionals at Darling Stadium in Hampton, which run through Saturday.

Here’s how they’ve done in the two meets leading up to today’s action.

Key: A – AAU State Meet, held June 11-12 at Darling

U – USA Track and Field Junior Olympics, held June 18-19 at Lakeland High School.
