Obici Hospital’s School of Practical Nursing, sponsored in conjunction with Suffolk Public Schools, presented 14 women their nursing caps in a ceremony at the hospital on June 14.

The school’s nursing director, Gwen Sweat, RN,BSN,MS capped each student, signifying the next step towards becoming a nurse. That next step will entail clinicals, offering the students hands-on experience in a hospital setting. The students will graduate from the program in February 2006.

&uot;The Practical Nurse’s Pledge,&uot; promising to cooperate loyally with other members of the nursing team and to raise the standards and prestige of the practical nursing profession.
