The flat tire was bad enough.

But things only got worse for Horace E. Belch, 30, of Windsor when he stopped to put the spare on his car on U.S. Route 460, near Old Myrtle Road, around 6:50 p.m. Friday night.

As he was changing his tire, Belch was held up at gunpoint by two men who pulled up behind him in a blue 1990s Ford Taurus, said Lt. Debbie George, spokeswoman for the Suffolk Police Department.

While one suspect held a handgun to Belch’s head, the other punched him in the face and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from his wallet, George said. The suspects fled the scene by car.

Belch did not require medical treatment.

Both suspects are black males between the ages of 20 and 30, George said. One suspect is 150 pounds, 6 foot 2 inches tall and has cornrows, dark skin and a mustache. The other is 200 pounds, 5 feet 7 inches with a medium afro, a gold tooth and thin goatee.
