100 Women in church hats

At 3 p.m. Sunday, the deaconess ministry of Canaan Baptist Church on Nansemond Parkway in Suffolk, will sponsor &uot;100 Women in Church Hats and 100 Men in Black. The guest speaker is Lula Holland of Suffolk. Women are asked to wear the largest, smallest, oddest, classiest hat.

activities at Little Bethel

From 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, the women of Little Bethel on Everett’s Road in Chuckatuck will host a Prayer Breakfast and Health Fair.

Speakers will present information on health issues that affect black woman. At 11 a.m. Sunday, the annual Women’s Day service takes place.

This year’s theme is &uot;Just be the Woman God Chose You to be.&uot; The guest speaker is Evangelist Sylvia Edwards of Yahweh Christian Center of Smithfield.

Time change at Ararat

For the months of July and August, Mount Ararat Christian Church will have Sunday School from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. and worship service will begin at 10 a.m.
