Vacation Bible School at New Mt. Joy

New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries will hold Vacation Bible School starting Monday, July 25-29. Transportation will be provided, if needed. Call the church at 539-2931.
Gospel program at Holy Rock
At 4 p.m. Sunday at Holy Rock PC Mission will sponsor a gospel program featuring the Spiritual Washing Machine along with Curtis Smith and the Eternal Joy Gospel Singers. The pastor is Almena Daniels and the assistant minister is Nathaniel Johnson.
Family and Friends Day at New Jerusalem
New Jerusalem Holiness Church in Carrsville will host Family and Friends Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The special guests will be Elder George Wiggins and his wife Lanita Wiggins of New Mt. Joy Food for Living Church. The pastor’s aide is sponsoring the program.
Alton Hamlin will preside over the program. The pastor is Elder Darryl Artis.
Annual Women’s Day at Laurel Hill
At 11 a.m. Sunday, the annual celebration of the Laurel Hill UCC Women’s Fellowship will be held.
The speaker will be Mrs. Victoria Evans Baker, a 1987 graduate of Forest Glen High School and a 1991 graduate of Virginia Tech. She is the daughter of Morris Evans and Veronica Evans of Suffolk. She resides with her husband, Isaiah L. Baker in the Bennetts Creek community in Suffolk. Victoria is the southeast regional sales director for Scholastic Library Publishing, headquartered in Danbury, Conn.
Guest soloists for the worship service are Ms. Charlotte Barnes of Franklin and Ms. Latasha Lawrence of Suffolk.
The theme for this year’s program is &uot;Walking On Sacred Ground.&uot; Mrs. Marva Parker is president of the Women’s fellowship and the Rev. Carl L. Sweat Jr. is the pastor.
‘Stir up the Gifts’
Heavenly Promotions is sponsoring a program, &uot;Stir up the Gifts,&uot; to be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, 100 E. Constance Road in Suffolk. The concert will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Featured artists include Andra` Cross, Brothers in Christ, Lavarius Majette & Purpose, On Fye For Christ and other anointed artists. The host for the evening is comedian Jamon Pretlow.
Special programs, fish fry at Virginia-Carolina Temple
At 11 a.m. Sunday, the Virginia-Carolina Temple Family Worship Center, 5500 Carolina Road, will host Youth Day. The speaker will be Minister Nathaniel Ralph. On July 25-26, Elder Trevon Boone of New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries will be the speaker. Minister Roberta Branch, of New Gospel COGIC, will speak on Wednesday, July 27; on Thursday, July 28, Missionary Gail Harrison, of Friendship Cathedral will speak, and on Friday, Terrie Thompson of New Mt. Joy Food for Living. Services will be held nightly at 7:30. Refreshments will be served each night. At noon Saturday, July 30, the church youth will go on a Picnic in the Park and a trip to Nauticus.
