Oxford clothes closet available

As part of Oxford United Methodist’s church’s mission work in the city of Suffolk, the congregation is operating a clothes closet. The program has been running since June 30. Operation hours are from 9 a.m. to noon every Thursday. Hours will expand as the need grows and the closet becomes mores established. To assist, call 434-1405.

Church shopping trip

Tabernacle Christian Church is sponsoring a shopping trip to an outlet mall in Rehoboth Beach, Del., next month. The bus will leave from the church at 6 a.m. Aug. 27 and return by midnight. Cost is $40 per person. A $20 deposit is required to reserve a seat and the balance must be paid by Aug. 7.
