Antioch women sponsoring dinner sale Saturday

The Antioch Women’s Day committee will be having a Dinner Sale Saturday. The sale will begin at 10:30 a.m. – until.

The dinners will consist of baked or fried Chicken, fish, two vegetables, cake and a drink, all for $6. Delivery is also available by calling 539-0067 on the day of the event.

The church is located in the Saratoga section of Suffolk on the corner of Kilby and Hull Avenue.

The Chairperson of Women’s Day is Altovise Johnson and co-Chairperson is Nuressa Boykins.

Fish Fry at Gates of Heaven

A Fish Fry will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the Gates of Heaven COGIC on Beech Street. The meal will include potato salad, string beans, a roll and cake. Meals are $5. There will also be a yard sale on the premises. Call 334-4456 for more information. There

Musical program at Galations Saturday

The male chorus of Galations UCC, located at 2320 Manning Road, is sponsoring a program at 6 p.m. Saturday featuring the union of male choruses from Zion UCC, Gethsemane Baptist Church, Zoar Baptist Church and Galations along with the Community Male Chorus. St. Paul RZUA

The Rev. Joe Chase and the congregation of Friendship Cathedral COGIC will be the guests at St. Paul RZUA, located on Spruce Street in Suffolk, at 6 p.m. Sunday. Elder Edward Foreman is the host pastor.

Services, programs at Lakeview Missionary

Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church, 635 Brook Ave., Suffolk, will hold Vacation Bible School from Monday, Aug. 15-19, 6 to 8 p.m. Infants to adults are welcome.

At 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, the church will celebration its annual Homecoming with a special service and dinner following. The Rev. Joe B. Fleming and the Third Baptist Church of Portsmouth are the guests. Beginning Monday, Aug. 22-26, Rev. Fleming will preach each night during a Fall Revival at Lakeview Missionary. Services start at 7:30 p.m. each night. Choirs from throughout Hampton Roads will sing each night.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, the men of Lakeview will sponsor a Fish Fry for Men’s Day. A $6 donation is requested. Trustee William H. Goodman is the chairman. The Rev. Dr. John E. Jones is the host pastor.

Youth services at Pleasant Grove Church

Youth services will take place at 11 a.m. Sunday at Pleasant Grove Church on Pine View Road in Suffolk. The Rev. William Bellamy, associate minister at First Baptist, Franklin, will be the guest speaker. The youth choir will render the music. The Rev. Karl Marshall Sr. is the host pastor.

Vacation Bible School at Windsor Baptist Church

From noon to 2 p.m. on Aug. 6, a kick-off carnival takes place at Windsor Baptist Church for its Vacation Bible School, which is scheduled from Aug. 8-12, 6:30-9 .m. Classes are offered for ages 3-adult. Call 242-6391 for more information.

Concert at Suffolk Christian

Jason Evans and Ken Clifford of First Baptist Church, Norfolk, will be at Suffolk Christian Church at 5 p.m. Sunday to present a piano and organ concert. The will perform duets and solo arrangements. The concert is free and open to the public.

Youth Day at Little Mt. Zion

Little Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 3288 Pruden Boulevard, will observe Youth Day at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 7. The speaker will be the Rev.
