KFHS Band Boosters selling fried chicken lunch and dinners

King’s Fork High School Band Boosters are sponsoring a Fried Chicken lunch and dinner on Friday, Aug. 19.
Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and dinner will be served from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the high school.
Tickets are $7 per plate.
Lunch-time delivery is available for orders of 10 or more in the downtown Suffolk area.
The menu includes fried chicken, green beans, new potatoes and hush puppies.

Suffolk Health Department offers free screenings
From 8 a.m. to noon Monday, the Suffolk Health Department, located at 1217 N. Main St., will offer free blood pressure and diabetes screenings. A cholesterol screening is $10. Services are provided on a walk-in basis in the main lobby. A Health Fair will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Temple Beth-El on Route 17. From 2 to 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 16, free blood pressure screenings will be offered at the Chorey Park Apartments at 804 W. Constance Road. From 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, screenings will be provided at the Suffolk Towers Apartments at 181 N. Main St. Call 686-4914 for more information.
Craft Booth at Wakefield Foundation Inc.
