Medical condition could be the cause

A Portsmouth woman died after a single-car accident Friday morning on Route 58 in Suffolk between the truck scales and the Southeastern Public Services Authority plant.
Police said that Francis R. Jackson, of the 1400 block of Lake Forest Drive was traveling westbound in a 1995 Pontiac when witnesses observed the driver beginning
to weave from lane to lane.
The vehicle reportedly ran off the road to the left, struck a tree and flipped over before submerging in a ditch filled with approximately four feet of water.
Drivers traveling along 58 and a Suffolk Police Sergeant freed Jackson from her car and began CPR.
She was transferred to Obici Hospital and died a short time later.
The Suffolk Police Dive Team assisted in searching the water for any other occupants of the vehicle, and did not find any.
They also assisted a wrecker service with recovery of the vehicle. Police are investigating the possibility that Jackson may have had a medical issue that contributed to the accident.
