Regina Belle and Manhattans come to Suffolk today

R&B artist Regina Belle and legendary Manhattans, featuring Gerald Alston and Blue Lovett, will perform at Temple Beth El’s 4th annual Summer Concert at 6:30 p.m. today on the lawn at Temple Beth El, located at 3927 Bridge Road (Route 17 north) in Suffolk.

Storytime at the Station
Now through Aug. 11, the Suffolk Seaboard Station, Railroad Museum, is presenting Storytime at the Station. Children ages 3-8 can participate. Join Whiskers and friends every Thursday. Ages 3,4 and 5 (15 children maximum) can hear stories from 10:15 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.; for ages 6-8, 11-11:30 a.m. (15 maximum in a group). Reservations are required. The cost is $2 per visit. Call the Seaboard Station at 923-4750 to reserve space.
Order of the Eastern Star to meet
At 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, the Order of the Eastern Star will meet at the Masonic Lodge, located at 168 Tyne St., Suffolk. The meeting will be held downstairs. Business of importance will be discussed.
Kingsboro Civic League to meet, NNO events planned
The Kingsboro Civic League will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4 at Coulbourn Park located on Constance Road. Valencia Moore, the Visitors’ Center Coordinator for Suffolk, will be the guest speaker. For more information, contact Donna Perry at 679-3993.
Also, the community has announced plans for National Night Out, which will include a
live band, Kid Care ID, Preparedness display, fire truck, rescue squad and give-outs at Coulbourn Park, lots of good food including hot dogs, baked beans, chips, sno-cones popcorn and sodas. All neighborhoods are invited.
East Suffolk Civic League to meet
The East Suffolk Federated Civic League is meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the STOP Training Center, 125 Tynes St. The president is Shirley Christian.
