Free food, clothing at Capernaum Church

Capernaum Seventh Day Adventist, 314 York St., as a Community Service Capernaum will prepare a free dinner every Wednesday night beginning from 4:30 to 6 p.m. On Friday’s, there will be fresh fruit, vegetables and canned goods. Clothes are available on Sundays. Call 934-9814 for more information.

Vacation Bible School at Bethlehem Christian

Vacation Bible School takes place at Bethlehem Christian Church, 1549 Holland Road, Suffolk, beginning today through Aug. 4, 6 to 9 p.m. A light dinner will be served at 6 p.m., with opening exercises beginning at 6:45 p.m. Infants to Adults are welcome to participate. The theme is &uot;Kingdom of the Son: A Prayer Safari.&uot;

Two churches host

joint Vacation Bible School

Faith Hope and Love Ministries of Suffolk and New Jerusalem Holiness Church of Carrsville will have a joint Vacation Bible School beginning Aug. 1-4 at New Jerusalem from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. There will be lessons fro all ages, music, arts and crafts. Services at Solomon’s Temple

At 6:30 p.m. each Tuesday, Solomon’s Temple, 12749 Courthouse Hwy., Smithfield, will have altar prayer. At 7 p.m. Christian Instructions to Discipleship Sessions (C.I.D.S) take place.

Trip to T.D. Jakes Mega Fest

Bethlehem Christian Church sponsors program

The pastor’s aid of Bethlehem Christian Church United, 312 Bute St., Suffolk, will sponsor a service at 3 p.m. today. The speaker is Mrs. Yolanda T. Wilson. She is the daughter of Mrs. Bertha Turner. A native of Franklin, she received her higher education at St. Francis de Sales High School in Powhatan and at Norfolk State University. She has been employed with Hampton City Schools for 32 years. She is married to Roland Wilson and is a member of Bethlehem Christian Church. The host pastor is the Rev. Emanuel Myrick Jr.

Services at New Mt. Zion Holiness

Sunday School at New Mt. Zion Holiness Church, 2113 Georgia Ave., Suffolk, begins at 10 a.m. At noon today, worship service begins with Bishop Willie Giles of Mt. Olive Holiness Church as the guest. Each Wednesday night is Bible Study and Prayer meeting. Bishop Everlena Riddick is the host pastor.
