So what’s the King’s Fork golf squad’s sophomore season going to be like?

Let’s ask junior Matt Steingold, who helped the Bulldogs to a pair of Southeastern District wins in their inaugural season.

&uot;I think we’ll do better,&uot; said the junior, who had a medallist last season. &uot;We’ve obviously had a year in improve, and I think we’ve got a good chance of pulling off more victories and some surprises. We lost some last year we should have won.&uot;

Shane Doherty also brought in a medallist for the Bulldogs, who will play their first meet Tuesday at Sleepy Hole Golf Course against Western Branch.

&uot;We’re looking pretty good,&uot; said coach Tim Goetz. &uot;We didn’t lose anybody, and the kids we have returning have gotten better. I’ve got three kids (Doherty, Steingold and David Brown) who are capable of shooting lower than 80. They’ve been doing it pretty consistently (in practice), which is better than last year.&uot;
