Charles Boone

Charles Nathan Boone Sr. was born to William Boone and the last Curley Mae Boone on Dec. 18, 1946 in Suffolk. He was one of eight siblings born to this union.
At an early age, Charles accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized. He became a member of the Fellowship of Metropolitan Baptist Church in Suffolk.
After elementary school, Charles relocated to Brooklyn, N.Y. to reside with his sisters, Virginia and Francis Boone. He attended and graduated from Franklin K. Lane High School. He continued his education at John Jay College of Criminal Law and Justice and graduated with a B.S. in criminal justice.
In 1968, Charles joined the U.S. Air Force. After three years, he received a disability discharge.
In 2002, Charles Boone and Catherine White were united in Holy Matrimony.
On Monday evening, Aug. 8, 2005, from the VA Hospital in Manhattan, Charles Nathan Boone Sr. stepped out of time into eternal rest. To cherish his memory, his wife, Catherine of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three sons, Charles N. Boone Jr. (Kara) of Hertford, N.C., Craig Boone of Elizabeth City, N.C. and Keyshawn Boone of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two daughters, Michelle Moore (James) and Ja’cobie Boone of Hertford City, N.C.; his father, William Boone of Suffolk; three sisters, Evelyn D. Simpson (Roger) of Suffolk, Virginia M. Small (Vernon) and Mary Frances McCray of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three brothers, Edward Lee Boone and Raymond M. Boone of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Calvin Boone (Peggy) of Newport News; his mother-in-law, Essie White; 16 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a hot of friends.
The funeral service was held Saturday, Aug. 13 in New York City.
