Church hosting health awareness day

Mineral Spring Baptist Church will hold Health Awareness Day this Saturday, Aug. 27 from 9:30 a.m. until noon.
The Men’s Day Committee at Mineral Spring is sponsoring the event.
There will be free blood pressure screening; a presentation on prostate and colon cancer will be given by a representative from the American Cancer Association, and Obici Hospital’s Mammography Department will be present with materials and answers about breast cancer questions; and how to detect it in its early stages.
There will also be a presentation on healthy eating, how to read labels, and the importance of maintaining healthy eating habits in order to maintain good blood sugar and blood pressure.
The American Red Cross will have information available concerning what to do in the event of a hurricane or other major disasters.
Breakfast will be served; all information and breakfast is free.
The public is invited by Rev. G. A. Speight and Jasper Mullen, Men’s Day chairman.
